Season 2 Trailer

In this episode

A ninety second trailer for season two, built out of clips from the calls you're about to hear. Word of mouth that the woman relying on it already knows will dry up. A business that grew by half, opened a second office, and then hit a wall. A number somebody wishes she had asked more for. And a fear that turns out to be the thing standing between one woman and the clients she wants.

What you'll take away

  • "Everything that I've done has been word of mouth, but I know that well is going to dry up at some point." One of four voices here, and the sentence a lot of this season turns on.
  • "Last year my business grew 50%. We opened a second office. But then I think I hit my plateau." Growth and a wall, in the same breath, from the same woman.
  • "That is such a small number. I should have asked for more." Which is a thing people notice afterwards, almost every time.
  • "What comes up is a sense of fear." Said about selling to companies, by somebody who spent twenty years inside one.

Everything that I've done has been word of mouth, but I know that well is going to dry up at some point.Last year, my business grew 50%. We opened a second office in New York, but then I think I hit my plateau.Like that is such a small number, like I should have asked for more.I think to be honest with you, what comes up is a sense of fear because I feel like I've been sort of waffling between these two poles that come in and do whatever needs to happen versus kind of having a replicable service that I offer over and over.I just don't know how to price like my worth. And I think that's like holding me up from having any conversations,I have no idea what they said and what they're saying behind my back, but I will say that I made the decision and I didn't look back.
